The course runs for 10 weeks (20 hours).

Each class will run on Tuesday evenings via Zoom for two hours, from 6pm-8pm.

Note: Lesson content will be made available to participating teachers 2 days before the start of each of the five modules.

This will enable participants to have time to familiarise themselves with course content in advance if they wish to.

FAQ: How do I know if this course will suit me?


This course has been designed to ensure that participants make progress within the CEFR A2.1 Proficiency Level in French.


The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is a global standard for describing language proficiency.

A1 and A2 are considered to be a Basic Level, approximately equivalent to the Irish Junior Cert.

Students at this level can handle routine and simple tasks, but they have limitations in complex conversations.
