Meet the Course Creator

Hello! I'm Tracy Mulholland. I have been teaching secondary languages in Northern Ireland for 25 years.

I currently teach French from Key Stage 3 (Age 11 Beginners) to Key Stage 5 (18)and Key Stage 3 Spanish.

In 2023, I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Blended Learning, which has inspired me to start developing my own courses.

Last year, I successfully ran 'Fundamentals of Teaching Primary French' for the first time, with excellent participant feedback. In 2025, I am delighted to be running three Irish Department of Education EPV Approved online summer courses!

French For Tots

12 years ago, when my daughters were small, in the absence of any local language classes for children, I set up my own Saturday morning French classes.

I kept all the resources I created at the time and always planned to use them again.

In fact, I am still teaching French to one of the little 'tots' who came to my class, but now she is seventeen and studying A-Level French!

Recently, I have started adding my language resources to my website.

www.craftylittlelinguists.co.uk

in order to helping non-specialist and/or time-poor primary teachers.

'I have been passionate about the benefits of Primary Languages for many years. I have been following the developments in the Primary Curriculum in the Republic of Ireland with great interest, as unfortunately there is currently no statutory primary languages provision in Northern Ireland.

This course aims to help primary teachers to explore a range of language teaching strategies and to enable them to feel confident when teaching Primary French'.
